Welcome to Mingly.ai ("Mingly," "we," "us"). Mingly helps career-oriented professionals meet compatible people and build a social life outside of work. These Terms are an agreement between you and Mingly. By creating an account or using Mingly, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Mingly.
Who can use Mingly
You may use Mingly only if:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you sign in with your own, real LinkedIn account, and the information you give us is accurate;
- you have only one Mingly account; and
- you aren't prohibited from using Mingly by law, and we haven't previously removed you from Mingly.
Your account
You're responsible for what happens on your account. Keep your LinkedIn sign-in secure, and tell us at privacy@mingly.ai if you think someone else has accessed your account.
What Mingly is for - and what it isn't
Mingly is for friendship and social connection: meeting people who share your interests, and doing things together. Talking about work is welcome. But Mingly is not for:
- recruiting, job-seeking pitches, or asking people for referrals;
- selling, promoting a business, or soliciting investment;
- romantic or sexual pursuit of people who haven't shown that interest.
Community rules
When you use Mingly, you agree not to:
- harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or demean anyone;
- discriminate against or attack anyone based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age;
- pretend to be someone else or misrepresent who you are;
- post content that is sexually explicit, violent, hateful, or illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- share other people's private information without their permission;
- send spam, chain messages, or unwanted bulk messages;
- ask anyone for money, or attempt to scam or defraud anyone;
- use Mingly for anything illegal;
- scrape, copy, or collect information about other members, or use bots or automated tools to access Mingly;
- try to get around blocks, suspensions, or bans, or interfere with Mingly's security or operation.
Safety
Mingly verifies identity through LinkedIn, but we don't run background checks on members and can't guarantee how anyone will behave. Use good judgment: get to know people before sharing personal information, meet in public places, and tell a friend where you're going. If someone makes you uncomfortable, use Report or block - they won't be told who reported them. If you're in danger, contact local emergency services first.
Your content
You own the content you add to Mingly - your profile, photos, and messages. By adding it, you give Mingly a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process it, only as needed to operate and improve Mingly and as described in our Privacy Policy and your privacy settings. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backup copies kept for a limited time and anything we must keep for legal or safety reasons.
You're responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to share it - for example, that photos of other people are shared with their permission.
Messages and contact details
You can message people you've matched with and people in your circle. Mingly doesn't monitor conversations, but may review them if they're reported or if required by law. Only share contact details you're comfortable sharing; anything you share with another member is then in their hands.
Moderation
We may review reports, remove content, and warn, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that break these Terms or put others at risk - with or without notice, at our discretion. If you think we've made a mistake, email privacy@mingly.ai.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering Mingly. The sections on your content (for anything kept), disclaimers, limitation of liability, and disputes continue to apply after your account ends.
Mingly is a work in progress
Mingly is new and changes often. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. During the beta, things may break or behave unexpectedly - thanks for your patience, and please tell us what you find.
Disclaimers
Mingly is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that Mingly will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that you'll find compatible people. We are not responsible for the conduct of any member, on or off Mingly, including at any meeting or activity arranged through Mingly.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Mingly will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Mingly or your interactions with other members. Our total liability for any claim relating to Mingly is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please email us at privacy@mingly.ai so we can try to resolve it informally. Any claim that isn't resolved will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you and Mingly consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of the place you live.
Changes to these Terms
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Mingly after that, you accept the updated Terms.
